What is LaseMD?
LaseMD is a non-ablative fractional thulium laser that sets new standards in aesthetic Dermatology thanks to its innovative technology. Unlike conventional laser systems, LaseMD creates controlled microchannels in the skin without completely removing the top skin layer. This gentle mode of action allows us to achieve effective skin rejuvenation with LaseMD while keeping downtime to a minimum.
What makes this procedure so special is its precision: the laser energy is directed specifically into the middle skin layers, where it stimulates natural Collagen production. At the same time, tiny channels are created that serve as entry points for highly effective Cosmeceuticals. Dr. Lucija Grittern particularly values this procedure for its versatility and predictable results.
What are Cosmeceuticals?
Cosmeceuticals represent a new generation of skin care products that contain significantly higher concentrations of active ingredients than conventional cosmetics. The term is a combination of "cosmetics" and "pharmaceuticals" and describes products that straddle the line between cosmetics and medicine.
In our practice, we exclusively use medical Cosmeceuticals of the highest quality. These contain scientifically proven active ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol, tranexamic acid, or resveratrol in concentrated form. The problem with conventional skin care products is their low penetration capacity—the valuable ingredients often cannot penetrate the skin barrier. This is where our customized treatment concept comes in: using LaseMD technology, we create controlled entry points through which the Cosmeceuticals can penetrate deep into the skin.
How does an LaseMD intensive treatment work?
The LaseMD procedure is based on a unique Cosmeceutical Delivery System (CDS) that enables optimal distribution of active ingredients in the deeper skin layers. First, the thulium laser creates precise microchannels in the skin. These microscopic openings remain open for a short time and allow the Cosmeceuticals to be transported directly into the dermis.
The laser works fractionally, which means it only treats certain areas of the skin and leaves healthy skin islands untouched. This method promotes rapid healing and minimizes side effects. After the laser treatment, the specially selected Cosmeceuticals are applied and can be optimally absorbed through the channels created. The microchannels then close naturally, leaving the active ingredients in the skin to unfold their regenerative effect.

How does a LaseMD treatment at Skinthetics work?
Preparation for treatment
Before your LaseMD treatment, we conduct a detailed consultation during which Dr. Lucija Grittern analyzes your skin and develops an individual treatment plan. We discuss your skin needs, possible contraindications, and your personal treatment goals.
On the day of treatment, we will first thoroughly cleanse your skin and disinfect the areas to be treated. Depending on your sensitivity to pain, we can apply an anesthetic cream on request, which takes effect in about 20-30 minutes. This ensures that the treatment is generally painless. During the preparation phase, we will work with you to select the optimal Cosmeceuticals tailored to your specific skin needs. Our first-class ambiance ensures a relaxed atmosphere in which you can feel completely at ease.
Performing the treatment
The actual LaseMD treatment takes about 30-45 minutes and is carried out in several steps. Under the supervision of Dr. Grittern, the team systematically guides the laser over the areas of skin to be treated, adjusting the intensity individually to your skin texture. During the treatment, you will feel a slight warmth, which most patients find pleasant.
The fractional thulium laser creates thousands of microscopic channels in your skin, through which specially selected Cosmeceuticals are then introduced. Depending on the treatment area, different active ingredients can be used: vitamin C for Skin rejuvenation with LaseMD, tranexamic acid for pigment spots, or retinol for skin tightening with LaseMD. This modern device allows us to precisely control the depth and intensity of the treatment, achieving optimal results with maximum safety. The gentle treatment method leaves the skin surface largely intact, resulting in short downtime.
Aftercare
Immediately after the LaseMD treatment, a soothing and regenerating serum is applied to support healing and minimize possible skin irritation. Your skin may be slightly reddened in the first few hours, which is a normal reaction and usually subsides within a few hours.
For optimal aftercare, our team will provide you with individual care instructions and high-quality Cosmeceuticals for home care. In the first few days after the treatment, you should avoid intense sun exposure and use a high-quality sunscreen. We also recommend treating your skin with extra care and avoiding highly irritating products. For optimal result, three to five treatments at intervals of 2-4 weeks are usually necessary.

LaseMD treatment is suitable for patients aged 25 and over with various skin problems such as fine lines, Pigment spots, or uneven skin texture. Dr. Grittern will assess whether the procedure is suitable for you during a consultation.
The LaseMD procedure is suitable for most skin types. Dr. Grittern will perform a thorough skin analysis in advance to determine the optimal treatment parameters.
For optimal results, we generally recommend three treatments at intervals of 2-4 weeks. Depending on the initial situation, additional sessions may also be advisable.
We use various active ingredients such as vitamin C for anti-aging, tranexamic acid for pigment spots, retinol for skin tightening LaseMD, or resveratrol as a powerful antioxidant.
Initial improvements are often visible after just a few days. The full results develop over several weeks, as collagen regeneration takes time.
